We’re currently hiring Catering Servers to support our growing private events program at Tap Room Rockville Centre. If you love hospitality, thrive in fast-paced settings, and enjoy creating memorable guest experiences—this is your moment.
Who you are
You’re upbeat, detail-oriented, and ready to bring the energy. You work well with a team, take pride in service, and understand the flow of private events. You’re flexible and know that catering doesn’t follow a set schedule—most shifts will be evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on when events are booked.
What you'll do
- Provide warm, professional service throughout private events
- Assist with event setup and breakdown
- Serve food and beverages according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
- Follow direction from the Catering Captain and leadership team
- Keep the space clean, organized, and guest-ready
- Help ensure every guest has an exceptional Tap Room experience
- Servers are expected to have full knowledge of our menu, liquor/beer, specials, promotions, and events.
- Adheres to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Ask for ID anytime serving alcohol to guests. There are no exceptions to this law and policy.
- Complete all opening and closing tasks pertinent to the serving position, as well as running side-work.
- Know the full layout of the restaurant, including but not limited to, table numbers and storage areas.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Tap Room.
- Assist fellow team members in the performance of their responsibilities. We want team players only!
- All Tap Room employees must come to work in proper uniform, neat and clean, with a positive attitude, and ready to work on time.
- Ensure the ability to properly read state-issued identification.
- Act with integrity and honesty, and alert management to all issues that may arise with a guest.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- Availability – Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical Requirements – Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships.
